INNOVATIVE MARKETING IN ACTION!

How many of you have ever slumped into your couch after a long and 
hard day wishing you had an ice-cold glass of Coca-Cola? I know I have!

Over the years, our favorite beverage brand have come up with some very 

interesting marketing initiatives, ranging from simple advertisements
 to free vending machines that dispense Coke when you hug it.

The most recent effort from Coke comes in conjunction with Uniqlo… Yes, you read it right. UNIQLO!

In Coke’s latest venture, new and upcoming designers from all over the world were able to showcase their talent by submitting designs for t-shirts that showed Coca-Cola in a positive light.

We made a trip down to Bugis +, formerly known as Iluma, and managed to find the winning designs that were manufactured and sold by Uniqlo.

The winner stands to win up to US$10,000!! That’s a LOT of money!

Rather impressive how a single marketing effort benefited both Coca-Cola and Uniqlo.

This year’s competition gained a lot of attention. A total of 6,288 entries were submitted from 72 countries! Must have been a REALLY difficult job for the judges to pick the top 10!

Singaporeans were able to pick out their favorite Coke tees from any Uniqlo outlet from June 2012. Not to worry, it’s still on sale. Go grab yours!

Reasonably priced at SGD$24.90 apiece, one sees no reason not to purchase one soon!

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2

THE MUST HAVE

The title says it all! It's definitely the hippest product that MOST OF YOU want to have yeah?! The most anticipated gadget that promises to redefine how we communicate and express ourselves. This week, we are going to bring you right into the action by covering the devices’ launch and giving you insights on what we think of this revolutionary product.

This phablet (the commonly used term for this hybrid of phone and tablet) was launched on the 29^th of August this year at Samsung’s annual IFA event in Berlin.  As you can see below, the anticipation was evident in the sheer numbers that showed up, amazed!!!!:DDD

Singapore joined the bandwagon and released the Note 2 through a Samsung exclusive preview on the 18th of November.  After which, customers could register their interest right there.

Technically, this device was so well-equipped with all the necessary additions to give their competitors some serious nightmares. A commendable 3100mAph battery and fantastic software in the form of Jelly Bean made the Note 2 the top gadget~ WOAH~

A 5.5 inch display makes it seay to work and play. Truly enjoyable! 

A new and improved S-Pen features maximum integration with the device. It even senses the stylus even if there is no contact. How cool is that???^^

The new Note 2 allows LTE and 4G usage. Singaporean users are lucky as most service providers allow 4G use with their plans. YAY!

You want one too? Head down to any Samsung retailer or any of the three service providers’ retail shops to purchase. It’s as simple as that!

5 million units of the Note 2 were sold worldwide in the first 2 months! THUMBS UP!^^ I was SO convinced to grab it as soon as I could! Below is my take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Don't be too jealous of me! Hope my mesmerizing voice can heal your jealousy a little yeah?^^v

Why did you start blogging?

I started out blogging because of my classmate, they asked if I want to also own a blog and we can read each other post. I think why not? It will be fun and interesting! :)

What do you do during your free time other than blogging?

Beside blogging of course I have my own job to do. I own a shop in Down Town East selling Beancurd in a cup! I know totally off my image. LOL

Any people that you admire or aspire to be in the future?

Hmmm... I would like to be someone who make people dream come true. Make them feel that they are special? Ohh! maybe someone like Tyra Banks? 

What is the greatest satisfaction you gain from writing and knowing that people actually read and likes your blog?

The greatest satisfaction was when someone who actually loves what you say, agree with you. Is like they giving me a silent support or even well wishes even though I don’t even know them at all. That kind of support is give without anything in return.

What is the biggest achievement that you think you have attained and how do you motivate yourself towards your goal?

If you are talking about Blogging, my greatest achievement was to be able to get featured in Nuffnang website!! Get sponsored oversea, products and services or even food? I didn't know blogging can give me so many things FREE!! LOL! My readers are my motivation, my sponsors are my motivation and my family and boyfriend are my motivation.

As a blogger, Miyo has been approached by various companies in helping them to write a review about their product on her blog. These companies known her through reading her blog, various social network or the events she attended before.

        She also maintains good relationship with her sponsors. Well, most of them. She will whatsapp her sponsors either talking about new sponsorship or just casual talking. She also does not have much of a trust issue with her sponsors because at the end of the day, she doesn't have much to lose. She will still get her returns from posting a review from them. For example, her USA sponsors will still send her her returns even though they do not have a close relationship and their only mode of communication is through email. So far, she has a good experience with these sponsors except for some exceptions where they have a little miscommunication between her and the sponsor. 
     
     However, she does not accept all offers from these sponsors. Since her blog is about lifestyle, fashion and beauty, it will be weird if she does a review on cooking pot! 
     
     "I only choose product that suits my blog because my blog is my brand."

     Many people might think that being a blogger, there can only be benefits since whatever your writing is not restricted and there will be sponsors coming knocking at your door. But, there is a downside on writing a review for these sponsors! For Miyo, she does get stressed out by the dateline given by these sponsors and they are very particular about the submission dateline. As mentioned before, Miyo is now running her beancurd business hence, she is sometimes too busy to blog and blogging takes time too. 
      
     "So you want free gift or extra money earn sitting in front of the computer? You need a little time sacrifice!"
